THE PATRIOT LEAGUE AND GUARDLAB ANNOUNCE MULTI-YEAR PARTNERSHIP TO PROTECT STUDENT-ATHLETES

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Patriot League and GuardLab, a custom mouthguard company, agreed to a multi-year partnership as announced Thursday by the League’s rights partner, Learfield’s Patriot League Sports Properties.

The three-year partnership aims to increase the protection, performance and recovery benefits for student-athletes of the Patriot League. The organizations will work together to engage athletic trainers and sports medicine personnel representing the League’s member schools to spread awareness and education surrounding the benefits of custom mouthguards in increasing compliance and protection for athletes.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to build and grow our relationship with the Patriot League,” said GuardLab CEO, Aidan Butler. “Our transformative piece of sports technology will aid them with the health and safety priorities for their student-athletes.”

GuardLab uses digital scanning and 3D printing technologies for its mouthguards, engineered with a proprietary Alignment Repositioning Cushion (ARC) to align the athlete’s jaw into its most optimal position for performance and protection. The company’s digital scanning technology is mobile, allowing the brand to travel to Patriot League schools and schools. Schools and students love that mouthguards can be fully customized with team colors, logos and graphics.

“We are proud to partner with GuardLab, a company whose mission to aid in the safety and performance of athletes is very much aligned with the values of our League,” Patriot League Commissioner Jennifer Heppel said. “The technology they can provide will be a great benefit to the student—athletes at our member institutions.”

The Patriot League is in its third decade of academic and athletic achievement, continually demonstrating that student-athletes can excel at both academics and athletics without sacrificing high standards. The Patriot League’s athletic success is achieved while its member institutions remain committed to its founding principle of admitting and graduating student-athletes that are academically representative of their class. Participation in athletics at Patriot League institutions is viewed as an important component of a well-rounded education.
